In recent months, there has been a lot of information in the media regarding consumer product safety laws in the United States.  In August of 2008, the CPSIA enacted several changes to the current consumer product safety laws.  Effective February 10, 2009, lead content in any children's product must not exceed 600 parts per million (ppm) by weight for any part of the product.  Effective August of 2009, the lead limit will be reduced even further to 300 ppm total lead content.
